Out to Lunch with Our Award
When something turns 100 years old it’s a big deal and a half. And when something is a big deal plus another half of a big deal that means it must be celebrated. When West Coast University turned 100 they put on a glorious Centennial Celebration event and in the immortal words of Shake ‘N Bake “And we helped!” We came up with the event look and feel and then slathered it all over different materials for the event. The event blew up like a corn-field rave circa 1994, so much so it was decided it could win an award. And long story short, it did.
Last week our OC PRSA Award of Excellence finally arrived at our office so to welcome the shy lil’ guy we decided to take him out to lunch. We asked him where he would like to go, being the guest of honor and all, and do you know what that sweet down-to-Earth guy said? “You got any diners around here?” What a great American. We all had a really great time, some good laughs and some supper yummy food. You know that little guy is pretty great and we think he is going to fit in just fine.

We are truly honored and touched to be awarded a Protos Award of Excellence and would like to take this time to thank just a few people…OK first obviously West Coast University, Market two I 10, Photoshop and the whole Adobe Suite for allowing us to make such awesome things, our moms, Creo-D and L.A. Sno who make up the awesome band Duice (but you already knew that), Rice Krispy Treats Cereal that gives us the energy every morning, Dr. Phil, our kids who make us want to stay at work for as long as possible, we would like to thank zombies for not eating our brains when they attack, thanks to Frank Zappa for making music that we have never listened to, Christopher Columbus for having the balls to set sail and not know if he was going to fall off the end of the earth, I would like to not thank that guy that doesn’t make a right turn on red even though it is clearly safe to make the turn, thanks to YouTube for keeping us entertained, Tosh.0 for keeping us current on world affairs, baby sloths for being so cute, we would like to not thank our landlords who almost let our office flood like a swimming pool, we would also not thank AT&T for it’s super horrible coverage on our iPhone, But we are going to thank Darth Vader for showing us that sometimes the “bad guy” is just misunderstood and can be philanthropic, Benjamin Button ‘cause that dude aged in reverse, We are not thanking Judge Doom – remember when he picked up that little cartoon shoe and put him in the “dip”, BUT we will thank Christopher Lloyd for returning Marty McFly safely back to the future and writing the first 4 seasons of Golden Girls, thanks to sweats, you are so very comfy, Thanks to FireFox for not sucking, We would like to NOT thank Toyota (aka Skynet) for having their cars turn self-aware and trying to kill the people inside while driving, Super thanks to Texas Pit BBQ for making our parking lot smell delicious, Thanks to our awesome 1985 headshot photo of Mike Bennett who’s mullet and mustache gives us daily inspiration, thanks to our autographed photo of David Hasselhoff for being poised and ready to save any of us from drowning at a moments notice, thanks to Chiquita banana stickers for keeping our project manager entertained, thanks to bears brave enough to ride sharks, people who pack their cars full of lamas, Bill Murray, Netflix, dangling participles, Thanks to Canada and Australia for being so laid back, Why are the monkeys at the Santa Ana Zoo so sad?, We are NOT thanking M. Night Shyamalan for screwing up so many movies, thanks to Kevin Smith for being awe-inspiring, OH NO we’re running out of time… OK just a couple more. Froyo, coupons, sandwiches, comic sans for hanging around even though no one likes you and finally thanks to YOU, of course.
